whew. breathing, finally.

i am starting to feel like things are getting a little slower. just a little. i wanted to post a few pictures i have from my camera and then i'll take some house pictures soon. promise.

these first 3 pictures are of trav's rewards from his garden. right when we moved out here he wanted to get started on "his garden" right away. he asked me if i wanted to help and i pretty much told him he should do it himself because i was not interested at all in doing a garden. so he did pretty much everything to get it ready, water it, spray for bugs, etc. (not really sure what all goes into it, haha) but now, NOW, there is a ton of food in OUR garden! i love it. we have tomatoes and zucchini growing out of our ears along with corn, watermelon, onions, green peppers, cucumbers, and strawberries. these are some zucchini that the boys and i picked a few weeks ago. i'm pretty sure these made the 12 loaves of zucchini bread that kari and i made way back then. (oh, and the first picture calvin took. he loves taking pictures now and i don't really care. it's digital, right?) way to go trav! thanks for being my little red hen.

this one is from just the other night. i love how my boys are starting to really love each other. well, miles always really loves calvin. calvin on the other hand...mostly really loves miles some of the time. notice how there are NO toys in the tub. i am not a mean mom. i do let my kids play with toys in the tub. there are no toys in the tub because whenever miles takes a bath while calvin is in there too, calvin picks up all the toys and scoops them into the toy bucket. then, once i take miles out he dumps them all so that he can play with them without miles taking them from him. babies can be so obnoxious. ;)
travis took this one from inside his parents house. while living there calvin loved to help out around the house. he knows exactly how to turn on the hoses around the yard and water all of nana's plants. kari says that he really could do it all by himself now. he is also very good at feeding holly (the dog). he'll jump onto her cage-thing (yep, remember, not an animal person) and dump the food onto the ground. holly loves it. i'm not so sure how much taylor loves it since holly is getting kind of fat. and then papa, unfortunately, spent a lot of time trapping moles in the yard. calvin is always very fascinated in what he is doing and loves helping papa trap those moles! almost any time we go over there now and he doesn't see any mole traps or holes he says, "mom, are the moles all gone?" what a great helper.
and here's just a few from the crawfish festival i mentioned in the last post. this was the front of the office group for the parade. it looked great with these old, 1930's cars.
calvin loved waving. i think he waved the entire time. i found him later that day once we got home pushing his little lego wagon around saying, "hi. hi. hi." over and over again while waving. i think that might have been the highlight of his life so far.

and what parade wouldn't be complete without the crest girls! they had the toughest job of the day. roller skating while wearing those outfits and handing out balloons and toothpaste to the crowd.

it was a long, hot day but well worth it. i'm pretty sure when i'm walking through the grocery store people stop and stare and think, "isn't that the girl from the parade with those two cute boys?" i'm basically famous.

we spent another busy week with travis' family. his sister lindsey, her husband and their son, brady, flew in last week for a few days. it was fun to see them and hang out a little bit. we went rafting down the deschutes river on friday. it was a blast. i only fell out once due to a massive wave while travis was being 15 again!! and then saturday we celebrated trav's big 2-8 by going garage-saleing (just made that up), going to taylor's court of honor and staying up REALLY late playing games and eating cake and ice cream. life is good and busy-just how i like it. we are slowly getting back into normal life and routines again--which is nice. i've been struggling with an almost three year old lately and have just recently installed a marble-in-the-jar discipline routine. so far, so good. miles is getting ready to crawl any day now and screams whenever i leave the room. oh, and is FINALLY sleeping through the night. it only took 4 1/2 months longer than calvin. i blame it on moving, living with younger siblings who really like their sleep, and a weaker mama the second time around. (or more tired?) i'm busy decorating my house inside my head while travis works hard at the office. we really are loving our little life as real people. look for more regular posts to come.
