i absolutely love this month. the crispness in the air, baking, pumpkins, school supplies, hot chocolate, sweaters, leaves changing, holidays coming, party planning, fire places...oh, and so much more. fall has actually hit boston and i am in love.yesterday we joined playgroup and headed down to do some apple picking. 'tis the season, right? well, once we figured out we weren't quite in the right place and that we could go to the grocery store to buy our apples for much less, we opted for a mini photo shoot instead. of course, i brought my personal photographer along and ended up getting some cute pics! all photos courtesy kristen e. tutt. (i think it's more professional with the e in there, kristen!)
what we now like to call our "un-apple-picking-adventure"

two of our favorite partners in crime
calvin being ALL boy...

did you notice his new buzz? kristen and i think he looks a little david beckham-ish. all we need is a little scruff.checkin' out the "amals"...
after our brief un-apple-picking experience we decided to follow google maps, er kristen's, directions to the abington target. well, let's just say after some good car bonding time, a stop at the local sandwich shop, and one phone call to mere, we finally made it to target heaven. (for those of you who shop at both south bay and then any other target, you know what i'm talking about). but, i'm pretty sure sophie and calvin didn't mind a little extra time to fool around in the back seat...wink, wink. thanks guys for a fun, much needed de-funking day.
and if you thought october couldn't get any better...look who we get to hang out with all weekend! my old college roommate and friend since freshman year and her husband andrew are here in beantown. today we spent a classic fall day up at "hahvad", or harvard, mingling with all the ivy league-ers and eating clam chowda. more on our weekend to come...

wow, i really can't wait. i made pumpkin cookies AND pumpkin cake roll last night too -- i've caught the bug!
i'll be there in 7 days!
I absolutely love October, too! And funny that you mention school supplies because I buy something every year and Adam jokes that he's going to have to hide my credit card during September and October.
You are more than welcome to send some of those cookies to me. I won't mind at all.
Ha, we went to the Smith farm too and came away empty handed. It's all about the fall experience and I love Calvin's hair and cute shots! Sorry I am a crappy directions giver. Don't you love that Target though, uncluttered out in the country...
Godd luck Trav! I love the picure of Calvin climbing over the pumpkins!
Marianne!!! That's so fun! (and PS..Calvin and Sophie in the backseat is pretty much the sweetest thing I've ever seen)
congrats on having a boy!! i always think that moms of multiple boys must be great moms because the world needs good men.
I want the recipe.
And Calvin is a freaking stud. seriously.
I love the pictures at the pumpkin patch! Looks like you guys had a super fun day. We went to an apple orchard last weekend and picked apples! To bad you guys weren't able to... we had a blast!
