dc getaway

this past weekend i was able to make a quick trip out to washington, dc to visit 3 of my best friends from my byu days. i love all the background info. to our history, so here's how it goes. alisa is my twin sister...so i've known her my entire life! enough said, right? then there's amber, whose sister camie is married to my brother matt. we met at the wedding and then ended up being put on the same floor in the dorms freshman year. the rest, as they say, is history. we've tried for years to come up with some name to explain how we are acutally related but all we can really come up with is that we share a niece and nephew. alissa we met freshman year also and we were almost immediately friends for life. the four of us were inseparable that entire year and ended up living together the following year as well. we always had great fun together with crazy dance parties, lots of eating, road trips, shopping sprees, roommate dinners that lasted for hours, late night chats, and so, so many more memories. it had been over 2 years since the last reunion of all four of us and it was so nice to reunite! as you can probably imagine, we had a lot of the same as we had 7 years ago. (has it really been that long?) spyg sisters reunite!

don't we all look so important. this is when i found out our apartment had almost been broken into while i was gone. yeah.

at a great used bookstore that we perused after eating a great breakfast and a little shopping in eastern market.

we spent the afternoon shopping in georgetown with another freshman friend, michele, who i haven't seen in years! it was great to catch up.

also, a huge shoutout to travis who let me leave calvin home! it was nice to be able to have a weekend away. it was my first time away from calvin for that long but i think i did ok. i missed my little boy though, and it's so good to be back! and another thank you shoutout to kristen and landen who took care of my baby on friday while travis was at work. i didn't have to worry one bit that day knowing that he would be well taken care of...for pictures from their day of fun, look at previous post.
