recovery.

when did my life get so busy? i wrote this post with some pictures a couple weeks ago and then never did finish it. since then we've been working on our house a lot, going to canada for a wedding, and just busy doing who knows what? this post has been in the back of my mind for weeks and with halloween just around the corner and then birthday/holiday season beginning i knew i had to get on top of this blog of mine! anyway, this is definitely not 4 days after returning from my fabulous trip with my girlfriends from freshman year. but you take what you can get, right?!

i am feeling back to normal now. 4 days after returning from an amazing weekend with some of my closest friends ever i think my energy is back. i'm not exactly sure how we did it because back then (you know, 10 years ago when we were all 18?) we went an entire semester of staying up way late into the early hours of the morning only needing to go home and crash for a couple days during christmas break. flash forward 10 years and after only 4 nights of it, that's about how long it took for me to recover. but, oh, was it worth!

it's not rare to hear any one of us boast about how we had THE BEST floor freshman year. except, we really did. ah, i love these girls to their core. we spent a weekend of reminiscing, laughing, eating, sharing parenting strategies/techniques, growing spiritually and even physically, and spending as much time as possible with each other. thanks again for a great weekend! to my 2100 hinckley hall girls: amber, alissa, alisa, jenae, marianne, janelle, janelle, ginette and lynn...all my love!

the first night we got to my parents' house we stayed up really late (like 4 AM crazy late) catching up, hearing updates on everyone, and talking talking talking. we all knew we should go to bed but we couldn't get enough.

after sleeping in a bit and a little shopping we headed to the temple. who would have thought 10 years ago that we would all be in the temple together? this is definitely the highlight of the trip for me. there's nothing quite like being with those you love inside the temple.

(alissa, liz, jenae, alisa, amber)

later that night we had a joint baby shower. all four of us will be having babies at the beginning of 2012.
mrs. february (alisa), mrs. march (janelle), mrs. april (marianne), mrs. january (liz)

of course we had a pinata. and, of course i got really into it and was practicing my swing.

the aftermath. poor eyeball.

everyone got gifts, too. i already know i'm having a girl(after 2 boys), janelle is having her first boy after 3 girls (!), alisa is having a girl after her only boy, and we're still waiting on marianne.

then we sat around chatting some more:)

thanks alissa and jenae for putting this together.

alissa has made her dream come true and teaches exercise classes at her local gym. saturday morning she taught us part of one of her classes which included a little dancing at the end. we all kind of got into it. really got into it.

oh, and we ate a lot and ate good. pizza factory=check. cafe rio=check. lots of treats and snacks=check.

more chatting. and more spyg.

we spent saturday afternoon in provo visiting campus and helaman halls where it all began! the cannon center is a brand new building but everything else feels pretty much the same.

there she is:) 2100 hall.

i got to run into becca for a few minutes, too! she and i were friends in boston and we played basketball together every wednesday night when we lived there. now she gets to be a freshman in the dorms and she is definitely doing it the right way!

we planned a mini freshman reunion for anyone in the area who could make it. it was really fun to see everyone again. maybe in 10 more years we could make it a much bigger party?

we made it to the homecoming game that night. we had a blast dancing to every half-song they played and singing the cougar song after every touchdown. rah rah rah rah rah.

we're glad scotty could join us!

sunday we went to church with my parents where we heard whispers all around relief society making guesses about how old we were and betting on when we graduated:) then my mom made us an amazing sunday dinner before lynn and ginette had to go home. that afternoon was spent having some great conversations with my parents and getting as much wisdom from them as possible. i loved having my parents aroud whenever they could join us. thank you, again mom and dad.

sunday music night. this is a favorite memory of mine with these girls. taking turns playing on the piano and singing some les miserable and phantom.

taking in the wisdom.

then we had to go home. this is the night before everyone left. marianne had an early flight so we all packed into her room while she packed so that we could take in every extra minute we could get.

i'm so grateful for my memories from freshman year. it really was the best;) but i'm especially grateful that we are still making memories. see you in five years, ladies! crusie 2016 here we come!
