we had a great thanksgiving week. it is so hard to believe it is already over and that we are now in december. it was great to celebrate our first 'real' holiday in my home with my sisters and families. due to a family wedding, taylor was the only one from trav's family who joined us all the way from provo for thanksgiving dinner. we then got to spend much of the weekend with ashley and kyle and alisa and ryan. not to mention amber was in town visiting, too. whew, good good weekend!
keri, alisa, and i planned and carried out the meal beautifully if i do say so myself. we had plenty of good food, including 4 delicious pies. isn't it funny how thanksgiving really is all about the meal?can't get any better than that.
and now on to turkey day pics. the boys got soaked playing in our ward's turkey bowl. i am sure if you asked any of them they could tell you a play-by-play of the entire game along with who the mvp was for each team...interesting. and i love this picture because that same face travis is making looks exactly like a calvin face. ha!
i love my fireplace/stove. it gives character to my house. and, the kids were entertained for a good 10 mins. too.
all about the details. these were so easy to make and made my table complete!
and the group-minus alisa and the 3 kiddos who had already finished and were off playing.
we are now back to our own little family again but december is in full swing with holiday parties and events, ashley's wedding in 2 weeks (2 weeks ash!), and christmas following shortly after that. and i get to go home for christmas! my house is decked out in christmas with holiday tunes blaring, lots of baking commencing, and christmas shopping. bring on the snow! (does it snow it oregon? speaking of the weather really fast, please notice the local 7 day forecast here. and you all thought it rained every day in oregon)as one of our "holiday events" nana took the boys to see santa today. i tagged along because i didn't want to miss seeing calvin hand deliver his letter with the pictures he drew of everything he wants for christmas. his list included:
1. cars.
2. dinosaurs.
3. a truck with a hook on it like my cousins have.
he got the cutest smile on his face when he saw santa. i'm pretty sure he loved every minute of it!
but...obviously one of my kids is not as big of a fan as brother! maybe next year when he realizes this guy will bring him presents!
merry christmas!

Thanksgiving with sisters is absolutely the best. It's so awesome that you live so much closer to yours now!
Loved your pics! It made me feel like I was part of the family fun. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
you got new pillows didn't you? i was totally going to say, trav's face looks just like calvin! and i bet if soph sits on santa's lap this year she'll look just like miles. ;)
what a cute table you set there, liz. good job! sounds like you had a great thanksgiving with fam. and it was fun seeing how your december is going so far...all the little details. love this time of year!

I'm totally stalking you from Jessica smith's blog, but it was really fun meeting and talking to you tonight! We'll have to get together to watch some football. And if you guys ever need anymore soccer players not on a wednesday I would love to play. Sounds fun.
Liz,
Thanks for the advice about the blue ball, I am going to Micheal's tomorrow.
