sometimes i have to really remind myself to slow down a little bit, breathe, and enjoy the tiny moments of my day that could easily go unnoticed. it is those moments that i know i'm going to miss when my kids are gone. as moms, i know we all go through the monotony of each day and feel like we don't have anything going on. i was emailing with a friend this last week and we both said how much we had wanted to write and call but felt like nothing exciting was happening in our lives besides the "norm". but i kinda like our norm around here. sometimes it's nice playing candyland a million times just to watch calvin get so excited to get the ice cream cone or to see me get stuck on the licorice for the hundredth time. or to hear my boys giggling in their room together while reading books. or even our target runs just to get out of the house right after naps and before dinner on tuesday nights. and my favorite part of the day? while i am getting ready in the morning my boys turn on radio disney and dance (jump) on my bed together. it happens every. single. morning. this is what i will miss.
i know i will also miss this big window one day down the road when we are no longer living in this house. it is a perfect window to wait for dad to get home from work. where is that red car?

my boys both love their daddy! but miles is definitely a daddy's boy. he screams most mornings when travis leaves for work and he screams out of pure joy when he walks in the door. he prefers travis for sure.
do you love that miles is wearing snow boots? ok, just one snow boot?
these are just from last weekend that i wanted to throw in here. we loved having alisa, ryan and owen here for the weekend. when they first got here calvin was especially intrigued by owen. this picture was not set up at all. he was fascinated.

how adorable! Miles just looks soo grown up in that pic of him outside with trav. Brady just giggles and goes crazy Rich gets home too. It's really cute!

i'm glad i show up in your blog posts still even though we are thousands of miles away. ;) and up until now, i didn't realize there was such thing as a "SHORTS" jogging suit. you knew it was coming.
Such a good thing to keep in mind as I anticipate the upcoming(long?) days at home with a baby. And playing Candyland all day is my kind of day--my Dad used to call me "Queen Kristine" after Queen Frostine :)
good reminder to soak up the good small things and ignore the not-so-good other things that come with the job. i loved taking a peek into your everyday. miss you!
Ohh gosh what a good post!! Just lifted my spirit and makes me appreciate all those little 6,7, and 8th graders every single day! It was GREAT seeing you this weekend. I wish it was for longer! Miss you already!

I remember when Payton would wake up every morning, crawl around the house, saying daddy....DADDY? She would search the entire house until she was finally convinced he was gone. Those are the small but wonderful moments! And I LOVE the single snow boot and "shorts" jogging suit! LOL
