we have a rule in our house that no toys go with you to bed. (the exception is the few stuffed animals already on the bed and "bops") so almost every night we have a line of toys outside the boys door waiting to be played with the next day. they usually include toys that the boys happened to be playing with 5 minutes before they went to bed or other special treasures from that day.
*here you see miles' treasure from the dentist office, his finger puppets from nursery on sunday along with a small dixie cup, calvin's dinosaur and car transporter. 3 out of 4 of these are still waiting to be played with again...
these days i'm starting to feel like those toys, too. just waiting for lots of different things: birthday. best friends moving here. summer, get here please. fun summer trips. and especially a few other kind-of big deal events that require more waiting. as if having kids didn't require enough patience already i kind of feel like my patience is definitely being tested to the max these days.
but, i'm trying really hard not to just sit around and wait. i'm trying to keep myself busy. i've decided that i'm going to start playing the piano again. at least 3 days/week. i am currently reading 3 different books: east of eden, a thousand splendid suns and water for elephants. i bake a lot, although that's not really abnormal. i'm working out and running more. (if you haven't tried jillian michaels' 30-day shred, i really recommend it. especially if it rains a lot where you live and you are too cheap to go to a gym). the boys and i are working hard on our letters and their sounds, chore charts, and spending time in the occasional sun.
hmmm, i hope that works. i'm kinda sick of waiting.

Haha soph has the same line-up of toys sitting next to her bed every night. I feel like I'm waiting too. Only on the opposite end like maybe my time is running out too fast.
Last night I had a dream that you guys were at the airport when we got home and we started jumping up and down and dancing. It was like a musical. Hahaha. You know it's true.
lizzie, you're a good writer. i like how you constructed that post (sorry, i couldn't help it -- i read bad writing all day, so it is nice to read something that flows!)
i can relate. waiting sucks.
let's hang in there together ok?
xoxoxo
I want to know what the kind-of big deal waiting stuff is. I know what I am waiting on!
Ditto on the sun and jillian michaels! I'll think of you tomorrow morning when she's kickin my butt!
