our baby miles turned 2 last week which means, i think, that he is now officially a toddler. we love having this little boy in our family. i love that my two boys are so different from each other but also love each other so much. miles is a funny kid. he loves to make crazy faces which is why it's rare that i catch a "normal" face of his on camera. he is very passionate; meaning, he is either really happy, content and friendly or angry/screaming like a crazy man. although, in the last month or so as his communication level has increased, the tantrums and crazy man things have slowly decreased. he loves to do whatever his big brother is doing. he has a L O V E of trains, or "choo-choo's" as he calls them. he prefers to sleep in big boy beds and has gone through 4 days of potty training so far this week. (ask me more about that later) he is very independent most of the time and strong-willed. if he doesn't want to do something (go to bed) then he just won't do it. he still needs one of us to sit with him during the first 10 minutes of nursery because he doesn't want us to leave. he loves to chat and talk even if he's just repeating the words he knows. he loves talking on the phone now, but for those of you who have talked to him you know that he's not really talking, he's YELLING. you may not know what he's saying but you'll definitely know he said "ba-bye" as it is yelled in your ear. he talks a lot now and has even started to say multiple word sentences. he loves balls and sports, just like the other boys in this family and the only tv he will sit and watch for more than 10 minutes is basketball. he loves his cougars! in fact, i think cougars may have been one of his first words. he is a mama's boy (always has been) but loves his dad, or "dabby" to pieces. papa is still one of his favorite people. he picks out his clothes every day and has a pretty good sense of style. he cleans up his toys like a pro and insists on making his bed every day. he loves to "go" places and i think he especially loves his one-on-one time with mom while calvin's at school. we love you little man! happy birthday!
some of my favorite miles phrases as of late:
"uuuuummm....sure."
"wash. bot." calvin has a bop. miles has started calling his bot.
while getting ready to eat "pray? pray!"
after eating "play? play!"
*i'll add more when i can think of them!

choo-choo cake

enjoying his present from grandma and grandpa. i think it's nap time here.

this is how i found my boys one night. snuggling on the couch watching basketball with dad.
