you know those days where your three year old seems to forget all of the things you've told him over and over again not to do, like running out into the street, running his bike into his little brother, whining, whining, whining, taking toys from brother, pushing brother down...etc. and you think you just might go crazy wondering if you are really getting through to him? and then he turns around with a handful of these precious little flowers (weeds) with the sweetest face and says "here mom. make sure to take care of these ones." and finishes it with a big ol' kiss. i love those moments. calvin loves bringing me dandelions. it happens pretty much every day. someday i'll tell him that they aren't really flowers. but for now, i'm gonna take care of these ones.
and in the midst of me going crazy i'm grateful for this work of art attached to my fridge to remind me of the sweet boy who will (hopefully) be back tomorrow. calvin's first people drawing! don't you love the arms and legs coming out of the heads?!

Aw we miss cal! I can't wait for people drawings. Right now it's just rainbows (aka: circles).
The happy Calvin must be hanging out with the happy Andrew and Reid, because those happy boys are missing and I'd sure like to have them back. It's kind of nice to hear that someone else has a case of the whining and grumps. Here's for a better day tomorrow...and the babysitter coming tonight!
hahaha this is tooooo funny! So gavin also does this all the time. In fact he just barely came in about 10 min ago from outside with the longest dandelion(weed) i have ever seen. I had to get it in immediately because yesterday i forgot to put the one he brought in yesterday and it died..and that really made him sad. He was almost teering up when he saw it dead on the counter. So i vow to nevern make his little heart feel like that again! ahahaha..today when the flower came to me...the first think idid was get it in water:) i lov this age!
What a sweet son you have! And what a smart mama he has to take pictures of the little (big) stuff. And good for you for looking for the shining moments of priceless joy of motherhood amidst the easier to notice (and hear...haha) not-so-great parts. Isn't it amazing that a work of art from your child makes you more proud to hang in your home than anything you'd find in the finest of art museums? I love it! And did I miss something? Where is Calvin? Oh, just read Liz's comment. That kind of explains it. Hope you're having fun!
