yup, he's one. already. in some ways this last year has flown by and in others, thinking about what we've done in a year's time, it is hard to believe it has only been a year! either way, we have loved this past year having miles in our family. he is such a happy, easy-going baby who loves his big brother, balls, and his bottle. (among other things) he walks but is not walking and is a little timid. he throws these mini tantrums that none of us quite understand and has such pouty lips when he is upset. he has started to say "hi" but it is only accompanied by his hand going up to his ear with whatever he is holding like it is his phone. he gives the best "what's up" head nods and could play that game all day long. he has started to recognize the camera and give a great cheese smile with his eyes tightly closed and a huge grin. he has gotten used to a brother who wishes he were a little bigger and loves to try and wrestle with him. he has the best "wow" face and gives it away pretty freely. as any one-year old kid does, he will throw everything out of any drawer/box/basket/cabinet/trash can/toilet he can find. he gives the best open-mouth kisses and is an extra cuddly kid. today i spent as much time as i could holding him longer and squeezing him tighter. happy first year, baby miles. we love you!

wow!

calvin loves saving "monies" and putting them in his wallet. he bought miles a very special birthday present and was so excited to give it to him.

trav's parents and grandparents were able to join us for a mini celebration. here is miles thanking grandma c for his birthday present.

i had to add this in there. miles is at the age where scrapes, bumps and bruises are not uncommon. he is one curious boy. this scrape came from a sharp price tag at the store.
