home is where it all is.

welcome to my home. i'm only posting a few pictures so if you really want to see it all...come visit! i'm sure somewhere down the blogging line you'll see pictures of all the rooms.

anyway, i did want to put a few pictures up as many of you have asked to see our new home. as i have already said, we are really loving the bigger space than our tiny boston apartment but i've also realized i'm not used to the upkeep and cleaning of bigger space. when do you moms in real houses ever find time to REALLY clean your house? does it really have to happen at night? ...back to the house.

notice calvin next to the mailbox. he loves his "new house". any time we are out running errands or somewhere else he'll say, "mom, i want to go to my new house". i'm really glad he likes it.

welcome to oregon! we have blackberry bushes, or weeds, growing right along our driveway. we all love it, especially calvin. while travis worked late last night, we picked blackberries and made blackberry pancakes. SO good. calvin is pointing at our goods.

right when you walk in our front door is our empty room. we basically have just a piano. and a new recliner that someone in our ward just gave to us. that's all. we'll be getting a couch later next month. no picture. and then the kitchen is in the back.

the table and chairs are from trav's grandparents. they work great for us right now and the chairs are surprising comfortable!

off to the left of the empty room is another big room, or the play room. i decided to take a picture of what it usually looks like during the day so it can be more realistic. the open door you see is a good sized closet where all the toys, movies, music, and games are kept.

out the sliding door in the above picture is our back yard and patio. love it.

and inside that closed door in that picture are these babies! thanks to my brother-in-law andy who just finished working for whirlpool, we got a great deal on these. and i love doing laundry again! this is actually a good sized room with an empty counter across from the washer and dryer and a place to hang clothes, too.

i had to throw this one in there. calvin loves taking pictures. since i was taking a lot of pictures last night he also wanted a turn. so there's just as many of his pictures on my camera as mine. this one was pretty good. thanks bud. down the hall from the boys room is our room and the third bedroom which has a desk, small couch and a table for my sewing machine and other craft type things. and that's our house! everyone is welcome to come visit anytime!

a few from today:
we went to the park this morning which means miles didn't get a great morning nap and after a rough night dealing with new teeth coming in, he was exhausted. i put him in his chair while i made lunch and when i turned back around he was sound asleep! when he did wake up he just popped up and started eating his cracker like nothing had even happened. too funny.

this one was last night in the tub. i should have known he was getting some teeth! unfortunately, nothing's come through yet. come on teethers!

and that's it, folks. off to bed in the heat of the night. we have no a/c which is a major downside but with a few big fans we've managed to make it work. i just don't like being hot. goodnight.
